The experience of loss is perhaps the most powerful expression of our shared humanity. We are all affected by the truth of Impermanence, one of the central teachings within Buddhist psychology. As we learn to live with and embrace uncertainty, change and loss in our lives, we discover ways to bear the unbearable.
This silent overnight retreat offers a safe, nurturing and contained space in which to explore how to integrate the challenge of living with change and loss, without being defined by it or getting lost in it.
Through the embodied practices of sitting, walking and qigong movement meditations, we will discover that with courageous presence, comes the possibility of finding stillness and moments of joy, in the midst of uncertainty, grief and loss.
This retreat is suitable for anyone negotiating a transition in their lives, and is particularly relevant to those who have experienced loss, either recently or in the past. It is suitable for beginners as well as experienced meditators and integrates meditation and the wisdom of Buddhist psychology.
To enhance the integration of body, heart and mind, there will be optional, relaxing yoga, as well as silent walking meditations beneath the beautiful mountains. There will be time for restorative rest, and nourishing and delicious vegetarian/vegan food will be savoured in silence, as part of our integrated practice.
