Nicci Cloete
metta365 enhances modern coaching and mentoring methods with mindfulness practices, focusing on executive leadership, transition and personal growth. Individuals and organisations benefit from my coaching interventions, whether focusing on developing self-awareness and self-management in moving towards personal excellence or a greater sense of ease, negotiating culture mergers within corporates, reassessing one’s boundaries within an NGO environment, or dealing with burnout in one’s personal or professional life.
The word metta means lovingkindness, and the enso that is the symbol of my practice are both nods to a more gentle approach to coaching. Years of practicing with Sue as well as the deep honour of having been invited to offer yoga on her retreats, have helped to shape my immense respect for each individual, my belief in everybody’s capacity to rise above their circumstances, and fostered a deep sense of empathy for all. It has also cemented my belief that mindful movement, meditation and breath work are essential tools in any coaching or mentoring intervention, allowing one to achieve a greater and more grounded sense of self, as well as calm and safe place from which to navigate the world and all its challenges and joys.

Mary Hartley
I am a clinical psychologist based in Woodstock, offering psychotherapy for adults. Therapy can help to alleviate distress, to enhance the way in which we relate to ourselves and others, and to support choices that move one closer toward a rich and fulfilling life. I work predominantly from a psychodynamic and relational foundation. This means that therapy is a process of exploring one’s inner world and relational world (both conscious and more unconscious) in order to build and strengthen patterns that serve us, and to break with old patterns that no longer do.

Alexia Montanari
Alexia Montanari is a mother of two and is a clinical psychologist. She is deeply connected to the practice of mindfulness and the contemplative tradition from which it comes. Her work in this field, incorporates both a personal journey and a professional one. She is one of four clinicians in South Africa to be trained to facilitate the work of Dr. Brené Brown’s Daring Way (TM). She describes the journey to be “one of the greatest gifts one could afford oneself as a statement of worthiness”.
Her mindfulness training forms the backdrop to her approach to Dr. Brown’s work which she feels allows her to offer it in a way that creates gentle spaces to land and explore the central focus on vulnerability, courage, shame, and wholeheartedness with kindness and authenticity.
Alexia currently runs groups drawn from The Daring way (™). She also offers individual sessions for those preferring to work at their own pace. She has studied and practiced the intersection between psychotherapy and Buddhism for nearly two decades now. She is passionate about dispelling the myths surrounding the teachings and making mindfulness accessible to all.

Bryony Niemann
I am a clinical psychologist in private practice in Stellenbosch. My worked is shaped by three big elements – a psychodynamic thinking style, helpful CBT techniques and mindfulness skills. I believe in gaining perspective and understanding the deeper, underlying root causes and then using specific techniques to resolve problematic thoughts, behaviours or feelings. Mindfulness is a wonderful bridge between these two and provides a wonderful space to pause and process.
I’m a big fan of gentle, kind, guided work. I believe in advocating for mental wellbeing and that every person should have access to support, particularly during the naturally more challenging phases of life. While I work with serious mental health issues, I also enjoy connecting with individuals around life’s normal transition points – births, deaths, marriages, divorces, changes, moving etc.

All of this means the patient is empowered, and has the choice of how and where they are cared for during a very serious illness. Alignd is already partnered with a few medical aid schemes but offers the managed palliative care journey to private patients too.

Dr. Kate J. Leinberger
Life is humbling. Therapy can be a life-saver. Other times it can help you be a better person. I’m often blown-away and inspired by clients’ profound growth and change.
Therapy allows this by providing an understanding of how underlying patterns contribute to ‘stuckness’ or problems. It identifies ways to change current behaviour and make healthy choices. That said, I also encourage getting out the mind, allowing wisdom to surface. In a space of relative anonymity and safety, therapy can facilitate heightened awareness and a sense of accountability that can add meaning and a sense of purpose to everyday life.
I’m drawn to mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and insight-oriented approaches as they allow present moment change. Mindfulness allows one to see ‘the bigger picture’ while in the heat of the moment, so to speak. The time-sensitive results facilitated by CBT allow for a more flexible client who can then pay attention to understanding deeper behavioural emotional patterns. My approach is engaging and direct. Laughter is allowed!
8 week Intro to Mindfulness & Meditation
I'm a licensed psychologist and love teaching this work. Magic happens in a group, especially when engaging with mindfulness type content. While the essence of this course is the same as the standardized Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course, the content and flow is my own. I'm reminded of how potent the material is when course participants describe the experience as "life changing". It's often said, why isn't this stuff taught at school? It's vital to being human.
Learning how to get out one's mind is essential to lasting growth and healing. It compliments psychotherapy well. I keep the group small, max 10, to encourage sharing. That said, no one is forced to share.
