This “Open the Heart and Still the Mind” weekend retreat, held in a nurturing and containing atmosphere of contemplative silence, will focus on strengthening our courageous presence and freeing ourselves from the burden of fear, shame and self-doubt. As we deepen our trust in ourselves and in living more consciously and sensitively in the present moment, we can discover the possibility of new beginnings. This allows us to express ourselves meaningfully through wise and compassionate action. This silent retreat is suitable for beginners, as well as experienced practitioners.
In addition to sitting, standing and reclining meditations, our embodied awareness will be enhanced by daily sessions of the ancient movement meditation qigong (Chi Kung), optional yoga and aromatherapy massages, as well as silent walking meditations through the beautiful gardens of Temenos. There will also be time for restorative rest and short, individual sessions with Sue during the weekend. Delicious vegetarian/vegan food will be savoured in silence as part of our integrated practice. This retreat ends with lunch on Sunday 18th and includes free accommodation on Sunday night for those who would like to extend their stay on a self-retreat.
A once-off, pre-retreat individual session is required if you haven't yet had one with Sue, to provide greater containment. This enhances and deepens the silent retreat experience for yourself and for the group. The additional session fee of R750 is fully covered by Medical Aid or will be reduced if necessary, if you do not have cover.
CPD accreditation for psychologists and other HPCSA registered professionals: 15 General CEUs have been granted.
