This overnight retreat is held in a nurturing and containing atmosphere of contemplative (Noble) silence at the beautiful venue of Mont Fleur, nestled in the mountains near Stellenbosch. It is suitable for beginners who are new to the silent retreat experience, as well as seasoned practitioners, who will have an opportunity to deepen their practice. Through the practice of meditation and the wisdom of Buddhist psychology, we will discover the healing power of silence, which allows us to integrate our fragmented selves. When we feel grounded and contained, we can establish a safe home within, from which to explore our authentic presence and the meaning of our lives. This process of healing and transformation creates the possibility of experiencing wholeness, joy and inner freedom. In addition to guided meditations, our embodied experience will be enhanced by qigong movement meditation, as well as optional yin yoga, strengthening the integration of body, heart and mind. The retreat will include time for restorative rest, silent walks, swims and short, individual sessions with Sue. Mont Fleur’s exceptionally delicious vegan and vegetarian food will be savoured in silence as part of our integrated practice.
A once-off, pre-retreat individual session is required if you haven't yet had one with Sue, to provide greater containment. This enhances and deepens the silent retreat experience for yourself and for the group. The additional session fee of R750 is fully covered by Medical Aid or will be reduced if necessary, if you do not have cover.
