This "Open the Heart and Still the Mind" silent overnight retreat will be held in the very nurturing and beautiful environment of Mont Fleur, nestled in the mountains near Stellenbosch. It is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners and provides an opportunity for self-care, inner healing and joyful discovery. The retreat begins at 9 for 9:30am on Saturday 29th and ends with lunch on Sunday 30th January.
Drawing on the wisdom of Buddhist and Western psychology and through various mindful and compassion meditation practices, including sitting and walking meditations and qigong movement meditation, we will learn how to connect more deeply with our authentic presence in silence and stillness. Through an awareness of how a distracted, perfectionistic and fear-driven mind leads to fragmentation, anxiety and disconnection, we will explore ways to facilitate healing through joyful and brave, compassionate presence. This allows us to develop the courage and trust for new beginnings.
In addition to inner healing and transformation, these practices and teachings will strengthen our capacity for more appropriate boundaries, resulting in clearer communication and healthier relationships.
Numbers will be limited to provide covid safety and full protocols will be adhered to, including masks worn in all indoor shared spaces. Weather permitting, more sessions will take place outdoors.
A 30 minute pre-retreat individual session via Zoom is required for newcomers or if you have not attended one of Sue’s residential retreats before. The cost is included in the Teacher's Fee. Please contact Sue on sue.stillmind@gmail.com to arrange a time.
Please Note: In-person retreat attendance now requires a vaccination certificate.
