This overnight retreat, held in a nurturing atmosphere of contemplative silence at the beautiful Mont Fleur venue near Stellenbosch, is an opportunity to discover the joy and restorative nature of contained silence. Through the practice of meditation and the wisdom teachings of Buddhist psychology, we will explore ways to ground ourselves in the present moment with gentle, yet fearless and compassionate awareness. This allows us to create space for joy and self-care within the silence.
The retreat is held in Noble Silence and includes Dharma teachings, guided meditations in all postures, as well as qigong movement meditation, which will enhance our awareness of the body through connecting with the elements. Delicious vegetarian/vegan meals, as well as teas, will be savoured in silence, as part of our integrated practice.
At 4:30pm on Saturday there will be an optional and highly recommended Mindful Movement meditation with the talented Dominique Beaumont, whose much appreciated work on Sue's retreats adds a deepening of our connection to embodied presence. The Movement Meditation fee is offered on a sliding scale of R150 - R180.
There will be additional meditations and teachings on Saturday night and Sunday morning, deepening and extending the daylong retreat experience.
If you are unable to stay overnight, there will be a daylong retreat option ending at 4pm, followed by the optional 4:30pm Mindful Movement Meditation.
Numbers for this retreat will be limited to allow for adequate physical distancing, so please book your place soon if you are interested to attend.
